Current Opportunities
Part-Time Dance Teacher for Enrichment Program (12/20/24)
Waynflete seeks an experienced dance educator to teach part-time in the fee-based, after school* Enrichment Program beginning in January 2025. A competitive applicant will be experienced as a dance educator and choreographer with a strong grounding in contemporary and modern dance, and experience with additional genres. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of teaching experience with students in kindergarten through eighth grade, a sense of humor, artistic vision, and a predisposition for innovation and collaboration.
*Enrichment programming is offered 3:30-5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and teaching age-appropriate classes that might include creative movement, dance technique for different genres, and improvisation and composition
- Working in collaboration with the full-time dance teacher to design classes that build upon the skills explored in the curricular program
- Choosing appropriate accompaniment for use in class and performance
- Shaping and/or choreographing movement studies and dances for the spring concert in May
- Reporting to the Director of Auxiliary Programs and Director of Performing Arts
- Building effective relationships with students, families, and colleagues

Part-Time Campaign Director (12/6/24)
Since 1898, Waynflete has been home to families seeking an extraordinary education for their children. Our mission is to engage the imagination and intellect of our students, to guide them toward self-governance and self-knowledge, and to encourage their responsible and caring participation in the world. Our aim is to provide a premier program that combines security with challenge, playful exploration with rigorous expectation, and range of experience with depth of inquiry.
The Waynflete Development team secures financial resources for the school. By joining our team, you will support a vital component of the development program at the leading private school in the state of Maine. In the fall of 2023, Waynflete embarked on a $19MM comprehensive capital campaign for a new Wellness and Athletics Center, as well as three years of unrestricted operational support through The Waynflete Fund. At approximately half way through the effort, the school seeks an organized and motivated person to bring the campaign to completion.
POSITION SUMMARY
Waynflete is seeking a part-time ( 24 hrs per week) Campaign Director to lead and manage the school’s comprehensive capital campaign. The campaign is expected to be completed by September 2026, at which time the position may come to a completion. The focus of this position will be on strategic planning, project management, donor pipeline movement, and campaign execution to ensure the long-term financial sustainability and growth of Waynflete.
Reporting directly to the Director of Development, this position will work closely with other members of the Waynflete administration, campaign volunteers, and external consultants to drive the success of the Waynflete Forward Campaign.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Donor Prospect Management (60% of time)
- Collaborate with the Head of School, Director of Development, and volunteer campaign leadership to implement and drive activity for campaign donor visits.
- Lead the campaign through its various stages, including leadership, major gift, and public phases of activity.
- Develop and ensure implementation of cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Organize and manage the pool of individual campaign prospects.
- Prioritize donors, conduct research, and draft communications, proposals, donor profiles, and briefing memos for prospective campaign donors.
Volunteer Management & Support (20% of time)
- Engage campaign-related committee volunteers and pair them with development staff for all aspects of prospect-centered decision-making.
- Support the volunteer committees; assist in campaign volunteer activation, help set strategy, run and conduct follow-up for group meetings, and support partnership with development staff on solicitations.
Operations & Reporting (15% of time)
- Prepare and provide necessary regular campaign updates and numerical analysis to Waynflete Trustees, Advancement Committee, and the Director of Development.
- Maintain a set of relevant campaign reports alongside the Data Manager.
- Support the creation of campaign-related materials alongside the Director of Marketing and Communications.
- Work with the Director of Development to maintain and report on campaign budgeting and expenses related to campaign operations.
- Maintain and adhere to a comprehensive campaign timetable.
Donor Stewardship & Recognition (5% of time)
- Maintain appropriate acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship platforms.
- Assist in implementing campaign cultivation and recognition events, in conjunction with the Director of Development.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS
- A belief in independent school education, keen understanding of Waynflete’s mission and goals, and the ability to articulate its uniqueness and relevance.
- Minimum of 2 years or equivalent experience in fundraising in a mission-driven nonprofit Capital Campaign environment. Bachelor’s degree required.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to manage all aspects of major campaign projects (project management experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite or Google Workspace software equivalent.
- A solution-oriented mindset, a demonstrated sensitivity in handling confidential information, strong skills in diplomacy, communication, collaboration, and a willingness to adapt.
- Some after-hour work required.

- Middle School Baseball: begins March 3rd, ends June 9th. Practices are Mon/Thu/Fri 2:00-3:15. Games are after school usually at 3:30 pm.

Bus Driver - Trips & Weekends (11/1/24)
Waynflete is seeking a licensed school bus driver beginning with the 2024-2025 school year for approximately 20 to 30 hours per week during the school year — hours fluctuate between busy sports seasons and quieter weeks. Duties include providing transportation for field trips, athletics, and other school-related events; training to be a substitute route driver is possible if desired. Weekend and evening availability is key. The successful candidate must have a flexible schedule, positive attitude, enjoy children, work well in a team setting, and pass a school-required physical. Strong driving experience and a commitment to safety are essential. Commercial driver’s license with P and S endorsements and DOT physical clearance is required.

Transportation Director (10/11/24)
Waynflete School, serving 565 students in grades Early Childhood through 12th grade, seeks a Transportation Director. The Director will develop, organize and manage all transportation needs for the Waynflete community. The Director is responsible for maintaining a safe fleet; ensuring compliance with state, federal and local laws; supervising our Transportation Team; providing efficient transportation to students on daily routes from Auburn, Bath, Kennebunk, Westbrook and Cape Elizabeth as well as for all athletic and field trips. The successful Director will collaborate with people throughout the school to ensure transportation needs are met in a safe, professional, and timely manner. The Director will promote teamwork and effective communication, and will embody the mission and values of Waynflete School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- To supervise the daily work of the Transportation team, evaluate their efforts, and support their work as a team;

To manage the hiring process as needed to maintain a full Transportation Team;

To ensure compliance with all transportation reporting, safety, training, licensing, and maintenance standards as required by local, state, and federal law;

To plan, prioritize, implement, manage, and oversee the maintenance and repairs of the fleet;

To oversee and manage expenditures within the transportation operating and capital budgets;

To work cooperatively with all members of the school community, and in particular to develop collaborative relationships with the Division Directors and Assistants, the Athletics Director and Assistant Director, and the Auxiliary Programs Director.

To drive for activities and fill in for Route drivers as needed.

To perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Head of School and/or Head of School.
