Middle and Upper School students excel at Maine Junior Classical League’s fall convention
The Junior Classical League (JCL) at Waynflete explores the mythology, archaeology, and culture of ancient Mediterranean civilizations through a blend of modern technology and traditional learning. This club also participates in the Maine Junior Classical League’s (MEJCL) two annual conventions, where students share their appreciation for the language, literature, and art of the classical world and compete against each other by testing their knowledge.
At the recent fall convention, the Flyers earned numerous ribbons as well as second place in both the Academic Sweeps and the Cetamin Level 1 events. Special thanks are due to Mukhtar Ali ’26 for his work as editor of “The Torch,” the MEJCL’s magazine. Mukhtar produced the first edition of the year, helping to elevate Waynflete’s presence at the state level. Bene factum! (Well done!)
