Waynflete wins first prize at Lion’s Club Speak Out
Last night three Waynflete students participated in the Lion’s Club Speak Out competition against Cheverus at USM. For the third year in a row Waynflete won first prize!
Freshman Levi Lilienthal spoke on climate change and the need for all of us to take action to stall its steady approach.
Junior Christine Odia Wa Ngalamulume proclaimed Digital Political Activism as the wave of the future and the most effective way for young people to make their voices be heard. Christine earned second place for her performance.
Junior Tabarak al Musawi gave an impassioned plea for Americans to show respect to immigrants by simply pronouncing their names correctly. She earned first prize and several judges told her it was the best speech they ever heard. She will be competing next week at the Regional level at USM.
